I got back from the Big Apple very late Thursday night. It was a fantastic trip but I am glad to be home. Jess and I talked every day on Skype (a free video phone program) while I was gone. We have been out a few times with Clara since then but Thursday was our first real date. We went to the Pickle Barrel at Yorkdale Mall.
We were saying that the last time we were there was shortly after we were married with our friends Jason and Becky. We also had our rehearsal dinner at a Pickle Barrel at Yonge and Dundas.
The extent and diversity of the menu made it hard to choose. Everything looked amazing. I eventually decided on the artichoke spaghettini. (Jess just reminded me as I was typing this post that it is the same thing I ordered at the rehearsal dinner. I can’t believe how much she remembers. I can’t remember what I had for lunch yesterday.) Jess ordered the Vietnamese noodle bowl. Both were good. We always trade samples.
It’s hard to plan a perfect date. They usually just turn out that way when you least expect it. This was one of those nights. We had lots to talk about and were able to be a spiritual encouragement to each other.
We walked around the mall for a while afterwards and picked up some things for Clara.

Good post. Glad to hear that Jess' memory is working well! :-)
